Very rare interview of Judy Garland promoting her return to The Palace in New York. Judy had her return engagement in July 1967 and was joined with children Lorna Luft and Joey Luft on stage and during this interview. The original interview was not in German but this copy of the footage has been dubbed. The quality is also poor but to my knowledge this is the first time this has been on UA-cam....

Putting her show on opposite of Bonanza was another kick in the face! In an age when not every household had a television! Or air conditioner or stereo! 😢 You deserved better Judy!

It breaks my heart to hear sing the words throw away the pills and then in another show she sings old man river and the lyrics, Im tired of living but afraid of dying and it just resonates. The world lost so much when we lost Judy😢

She put everything she had into Old Man River and it sent chills when the words came out of her mouth " r tired of living, but afraid of dying!" Bless her heart, as a professional entertainer and published author myself, I truly understand the scrutiny and microscopic observations placed on you. No I never attained her staus and now that I am older and still alive at 61, I am glad I didnt. The world lost a precious gem when we lost Judy.

“Sing Sing Sing“ a huge hit for Benny Goodman featuring Gene Krupa on drums. It was recorded first by Louis Prima and The New Orleans Gang. Prima wrote the music and lyrics in 1936.

Elvis Presley also was a genius in more than music. He too read deeper subject books such as philosophy and Eastern religion. He made nites in the books he studied. He carried a traveling bookcase with him when he toured. He had a photographic memory and had the entire Bible memorized. He knew Shakespeare's plays verbatim. For his movies, he knew his role and everyone else's roles, learning the whole script in twenty minutes. He possessessed a very quick wit and a great sense of humor. Most people do not know how intelligent he was.

Great hidden trinket here, Guest Leo Durocher (Baseball mgr) tells Judy a delightful young Willie Mays "development" story... he (Willie Mays) just passed, at 93, 2 days ago, and is indeed one of the all-time greatest. r.i.p. all

Wow -- Jerry Van Dyke was so Young & Slim & Cute then! I probably did watch this at home with my family, at I was 15 years old at that time, and my parents were fans. Little did any of us know at that time that Judy was a distant cousin! And the same can be said for Jerry Van Dyke! Except for my Maternal Grandmother's Paternal Line, we didn't know that we had many deep roots into the 1600's of Colonial America, and meant there would be Famous Descendants who would be Our Cousins, such as Judy and Jerry. Thanks very much for sharing this video! It helps preserve American Cultural History!

At the end, poor Judy was burning out and surrounded by hangers-ons and unsavory people. This great Lady didn’t have a chance in the end. Heartbreaking to see her so frail and vulnerable. I hope she’s at peace now because she deserves it. ❤

Thank you for posting these shows. I confess I'd never seen any beyond the first or second episode. I've now seen the entire season, and I can't believe how dynamic and creative each episode is: Exceptional guests, amazing minimalistic sets that are nothing short of art, and Judy is absolutely glamorous, gorgeous, and in perfect voice. In this Episode 6, I love watching June Allyson laugh with Judy telling stories about their MGM days. You could really tell she loved Judy (like all of us). I laughed especially hard when Miss Allyson said, "I don't like him!" referring to Jerry Van Dyke. No disrespect intended, but for me he detracted from the greatness of the show. The show got better and better as the episodes progress. Episodes 21 & 22 are each one hour of pure artistry. I simply can't believe this show was cancelled after one season. There's no variety show of that era to equal it in my opinion. Apparently, the television industry, or at least CBS, had no idea what to do with real talent.

“And Aunt Jack” this show is hilarious even today. The music is so timeless. Judy was so perfectly imperfect. We lost her too soon, but I would’ve hated too see her grow painfully old. I say that as if I wasn’t born half a century after she was gone lol
